Melbourne, 3 February 2006 – The directors of Bill Express Limited (ASX; BXP)
are pleased to announce that its Dial Time business sales surpassed the previous
record sales, achieved in November 2005. Sales for the month of December 2005
exceeded the November figures by $8.7 million, a monthly increase of approximately
14%. Sales for the month of December rose to $72.1 million, an increase of 71% over
the month of December 2004.
The Bill Express network also experienced significant growth during 2005. At 31
December 2005, there were 13,753 active terminals, an approximate increase of 62%
for the corresponding period in 2004.
The number of contracted Billers at 31 December 2005, had also increased by 143%,
compared to the corresponding period in 2004.
Bill Express Chief Executive, Mr. Ian Christiansen said: “We are pleased with the
performance and strong strategic position achieved during 2005. Each of the above
business dimensions are the result of carefully planned and executed growth and
consolidation strategies. The company’s performance in 2005 has established a
platform for strong growth in 2006. In percentage terms, 2006 growth rates will now
be off a much higher revenue base that is approaching $800 million on an annualised
basis.
“The strength of the Bill Express network exceeds all competitors. There is a
difference between having terminals as banks do, and having ability to distribute,
price, sell and promote electronic products. The dominant network, in the dominant
retail precincts will be the strongest winner of electronic business growth.
“Growth of new third generation products will drive new diversified products lines over
the mobile network, thus bringing new business to the company. Each of these
strategic factors will contribute to Bill Express being offered new products, such as the
music product range loaded late in 2005, on either an advantageous or preferential
basis. Each new product across 13,750 sites adds $13.75 million sales per annum
per $100 of sales per site,” said Mr. Christiansen.
“Our future revenues will be driven by two main factors, being the network strength
multiplied by the strength of the products sold via our network. Each of these factors
are positively aligned and managed to support the strong growth of Bill Express during
2006”.
