Interesting what one can glean from that article, beyond the obvious : that they are dead set determined to majorly cheese Kim off by shooting down his satellite.
The main points are that the US had to send missile ships to the area and activate radar networks to deal with the NK rocket. That is a tacit admission that the US is not 24/7 protected from all directions by its missile defence system. The russians & Chinese wouldnt miss that, lol.
Also, re "if space-, land-, and sea-based sensors determine its flight path is targeted at the United States or U.S. allies,", it seems the rocket will be shot down because its heading in the direction of Australia, the US's newest strategic ally. A bummer, wouldnt have minded some souvenirs landing in the Goldfields. I missed out on Skylab parts.
