Most tailings dams eventually contain solids in WA not liquids as the yearly evaporation rate is higher than the precipitation rate.
SOme tailings ex plant are is a paste form now to reduce spillage think it means the tailings dam wall does not need to be so heavily constructed if a paste is used.
Just an observation.........
