July 21: (RWE) - Healthpoint Technologies
Ltd earned a maiden net profit of $325,000 in the year to June 30
compared with a loss of $436,000 in the previous year.
Managing director Mr Byron Ko said: "This result is in line with
our expectation and indicates progress towards restoring shareholder
value.
"Over the past 24 months we have undertaken a significant
restructure of the business that has seen the company transform its
business from a volume driven hardware vendor to one concentrating on
income creation from technology licensing and investment.
"The maiden profit reflects the work of a tight and cohesive
management team and we will utilise the team's knowledge and experience
to actively seek additional investment and business opportunities in
order to increase shareholder value," Mr Ko said.
At the annual meeting shareholders will be asked to approve a
resolution to change the name of the company to HLT Ltd, to reflect the
decreased focus on health-based technologies.
