...the Apple/Android argument is a good one, especially where quality and choice can be offered without the integration complexity of a PC. I suppose we're only talking voltage, current, AC/DC and management systems - I wonder what the shape of web-enabled local battery photovoltaic integration standardisation is at the moment?

The neutral conductor continuity requirement for RCD tripping came into force on October 9th - I wonder if anyone in the biz knows of any standardisation around web-connected battery photovoltaics from a control point of view or will they be proprietary and we end up with Apple-Redback or similar?  I guess it's just a switch......go RFX...  oh, and thanks for allowing my mid-30's parcel to re-enter...cool...
