Just to expand on one point. I’ve been told, by someone who is in a position to know, that Redflow has decided to get out of the household market. Makes sense to me: having tried to make it work, I can honestly say that it’s a poor fit for home use. You really need a solid one plus kilowatt load when maintenance time arrives, and that isn’t most households.
If someone manages to build a ZnBr battery that doesn’t have a dendrite problem, that would change. But for now, at least, I have to agree with that decision.
For the record, I now have three Pylontech LiFePO4 modules (US5000), for a touch under 15 kWh. They’re working much better for me than the ZBM ever did.
I still wish the company well, mind. I’m just troubled by how long it’s taking to get to profitability.
