At the high level, ESS says their batteries are lowest cost for 6-12 hour energy storage (so lower than RFX then) with the same environmental considerations as RFX and ESS batteries don't catch fire either. ESS's went big from day one.
ESS (NYSE GWH) is down ~ 96% from its 5 yr peak price. RFX is down ~ 87% from its 5 yr peak price. Retail investing in batteries is simply a loss of dosh.
But shirley there will have to be non li batteries, so maybe I should spread my losses and put the money that was going to RFX into ESS?
Someone mentioned FUD above. I hope RFX will make it. I would love RFX to make it and give me a return (sp has to double from here to do that though). Fear is a stronger motivator than greed and hope and an indicator of future performance and actions is past performance and actions.
