For a wholesaler running a grid connected farm, the numbers are different and very variable. They buy from the grid when prices are low, and sell as high as they can. I used 10c and 15c as illustrative, but you get the same result for any x and 1.5x. When the grid is highly renewable, prices will be very stable because of all the connected batteries buffering it, so you need systems that can profit from small price swings. In that environment, low RTE systems will never switch on until all the high RTE systems have been depleted. So there’s little value in a 25yr warranty for a low RTE system if the grid will be mostly renewable by 2040. RTE is critical in determining whether your system ever operates, much more so than Depth of Discharge.

Grid connected, draws surplus generation from the grid, mainly solar I expect, feeds it back in at some point.
