Bad press is about the only thing that seems to draw a reaction from this labour government - so obsessed with dominating the 24 hour news cycle completely to the detriment of any long term planning or action.

There are literally hundreds of stories about Australian inventors (trained at Australian universities) having to export their technology OS as they can't get funding in Oz. Best example is Shi Zhengrong, founder of Suntech Power (largest solar power company in China, and listed on NYSE). He went to Sydney Uni, but had to move back to China because he got no support to commercialise his inventions.

Govt. has to kickstart green innovation in Australia. Otherwise we'll all be working for Chinese managers in 20 years time. REDP is a drop in the ocean and they can't even move forward with that.
