A good step forward, but not a new idea by a long shot. Farms in the third world have been capturing methane form pig and other poo and to burn for cooking. I saw it myself some 40 years ago. Everything went into a large sealed metal vat next to the kitchen and then a short pipe took it to a single gas burner.
