Lithium is not strictly a Rare Earth but it has similar market behaviour. Vanadium, Tungsten, Moly, Tantalum are also mistakenly labeled as rare earths too. The correct term for Lithium and Tantalum is "rare metal". The V, W and Mo are often called "noble metals". All are included in the category of "minor metals".
Confusing enough?
Basically for the great unwashed if it aint base metals, U, iron ore or gold it gets lumped into "rare earth".
I'm happy to back GXY as a rare earth company. Have to applaud the downstream processing, you just can't operate in these minor metals with any future unless you have something past the mine.
