generally a nice picture, but in most cases uranium within minerals containing REE as a main constituent is incorporated in the lattice, replacing some of the lattice positions of the REE.
So your grains might be considered the REE-minerals and the uranium would be vitamine B12 within the grains to stick with your picture.
So you are forced to mine and process the uranium with the REEs; separation is possible only after having dissolved the REE-minerals in an acid or alkalic solution.
