My personal view is that REE demand is pretty much inelastic. High prices for extended period will hurt demand, but the decisions about the type of magnet (for example) used in a product are made during design and changing that takes time.
In any case, as we've seen in numerous charts the current price ISN'T high by historical standards. The bigger risk to Lynas is the higher prices encouraging more people to invest in LAMP style processing or China getting bored with enforcing environmental restrictions and allowing the illegal production back on the market.
