The Ministry of Land and Resources of China recently said it would adopt limitations governing the total mining quantity of tungsten, antimony and rare earth materials to protect and rationalize the exploitation of national resources.
The ministry said it would ignore all applications for prospecting and mining licenses for the aforesaid resources by June 30, 2010.
It settled this year's mining quota for tungsten at 68,555 tons, rare earth at 82,320 tons and antimony at 90,180 tons.
The ministry said it would tighten the supervision of mining companies and provincial land and resources authorities to uncover and eliminate any violations.
