Did I hear right ie. the cost of this referendum will be around 80 million dollars... if it's been defeated twice previously, what makes them think it will pass this time.

To dilute the cost somewhat, why don't they include the question of same sex marriage (yes or no answer only) This would be a truly accurate way to assess just how the average Australian feels about this emotive topic and kill off one way or the other, the never-ending debate from both sides of the fence.
