Ok Pints, My review of the electoral system goes as follows. An Australian style Electoral Commission( federal and state) President elected by popular vote. Election conducted over 1 week ( including a weekend , reduces the need for postal and prepolls). Federal Commission to determine voting eligibility. Federal Commission in charge of boundaries. Preferential voting system. Manual counting of paper votes.
There you go, something for everybody. My feeling is that the Republicans would find these sorts of measures aimed at finding out what the people want , very threatening .
