Honestly, I've given up trying to make sense of day to day gyrations. I've spent the last few days going over over my trades for the past 18 months. The thing that stuck out is that the market periodically offers up FREE MONEY. You just have to stick to your guns and back your judgement when you know it to be true. The herd is fickle. Remember when PLS retreated to the low 50s after its initial run? There are many, many examples like that. The REAL money I made was not on a smash and grab for a few thousand dollars, but when I held on to a stock I knew was due for a serious re-rate. This is one such case, IMO.

Go in big, be right, hold tight.

I suspect this is a good ol' fashion tree shake. We have now well and truly come to the attention of the investment banks, hedge funds and Chinese players, all of whom want to position themselves in the vanadium space, and little AVL in particular.

We are such a small company, any effort to build a sizeable stake will see the price run. ( What was with the AVLO price action today? Up 10% and the slammed down?).

We are up against some of the smartest people on the planet, and their High Frequency Bots, which are designed to get you to part with your shares as cheaply as possible. The example I referred to above with PLS in the latter half of 2016, is just one of many, but I remember it clear as day because even though all the fundamentals looked solid, and there was all this hype, the price just drifted lower, and lower. At the time I naively believed the market knows best... We all know what happened just a few months later.

The thing is, the people who program the Bots, know your psychology better than you do. They know that many of us are sitting on large profits and the pain of going into the red is real: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loss_aversion

Thanks for your contribution & insights LT and @prolifix - still seeing myself as a beginner....these points are invaluable.

I have set myself to stick around with AVL long term - I try to keep the lid on things but I believe it will be the source of my family's financial freedom long term.
