    h,
nice post. my thoughts are yours. Option 1.

DC would be doing the company a diservice by not focusing on the game plan. OR. It would be ok for 2/3 if they completely dumped the LNGN plan, for whatever reason. I find this highly unlikely. We are going to ship gas through Newcastle - we will have the capital, have the reserves, have the IP and will make the profit on the business. Those others will just have to try and stop us.

    Anthony,
I still need to have a closer look at the policy and try and come up with some numbers on the LNG impact.

I dont think I can immediately write off the potential negative impact as benign because the LNG market is global and growing. Price isnt everything, but the premium we ask customers to pay for Aussie gas is based off our security "capital" that we provide. This has been damaged in the last 12 months politically, however the aspect of reliable delivery is still very much in tact. Under threat from high wages still.

    nervous,
as much as I dislike the emu (see below-not necessarily my view but it is funny) and labors policies as late, I must say I fully support the carbon tax for my own selfish reasons; listed in order of priority:

    1. GAS

    2. GAS

    3. GAS

It is not the worse thing for the economy, but it does take the edge off our competitveness in the global market.

Consider looking from outside in = Export Goods are more
expensive because energy costs are higher and you can find them cheaper elsewhere

Consider looking from inside looking out = Import Goods are cheaper because they have been manufactured with lower energy costs.

ENERGY runs through every vein of ANY economy. The impact of a self-carbon tax cannot be ignored, but I dont think it is the end of the world either. And for an ESG forum, we should be praising Gillard to get a carbon policy in sooner rather than later, because ultimately gas, and those interested parties will be winners in the LT.

We should write a song about RELIABILITY and LOW CARBON to impregnate the essential message that gas brings to the energy market. Its high-noon for gas.

    Highest Regards to you all,

    SF
