Anyone dabbled in the larger 150mm refractors available off the shelf such as the Meade,Skywatcher etc.
Im not looking at Takahashi or the like as you may as well be working at an observatory to stick your eye behind such quality/expensive optics.Just something around the 2-4K mark.
Just after a reasonably to good quality scope that can cope with a bit of city light. The light buckets(large reflectors/Cassegrains) tend not to do so well around the city I hear.
Dont mind a bit of set up work as this, after all, is a little what its all about.
If the scope is sold separately perhaps you could recommend a good mount/tripod as well as eye pieces/filters etc.
