Given the fact that the Bennelong Long Short Equity Fund is closed to new investors, I cannot understand why Bennelong created a LIC equivalent, which is AEG. If Bennelong wanted to increase the non-listed fund size they could have simply not closed the fund to new investors, and if necessary lowered the minimum investment. With my limited knowledge of LICs, there must be something that I am missing?
