Regional aboriginals and real kindness

    The "Aboriginal" thread on this forum is very depressing.
    There are posters who seem to lack kindness, some lack pragmatism and some in either denial or absolute ignorance of reality.
    I would like to make a few points;

    1) There is not an "aboriginal" issue. There are aboriginal households in Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne living normal lives with jobs and wealth. These households have no need of extra health initiatives, subsidies or quotas. The problem is in the regions.

    2) Any group of people living in isolation where there are no jobs, no ownership of property, no role models and no chance of prosperity would be in trouble.

    3) These aboriginal settlements are not traditional. Aboriginals were nomadic. These settlements exist for the convenience of public servants and city aboriginal activists who make a career out of tending the inhabitants. The exploiters don't want it to end.

    4) If an isolated community of whites was suffering crime and child abuse it would be closed down.

    Its time to face reality. These communities will always be pots of cruelty and failure. There is no prospect of success, no planned way out. No child should be allowed there. Close them down.
