copper ore concentration is average 0.8% so to get 80kg of pure copper, we need to dig up, melt and process 80kg / 0.8% = 10,000kg or 10 tonnes of earth.
RRE ore by Lynas is 15% (very high deposit, much lower in other mines). So average is 10%. 450kg will need 450kg /10% = 4500kg or 4.5 tonnes of rock and earth.
Not sure why it has to be renewables vs domestic natural gas because we need all sources of energy produced domestically as much as possible.
