Most kangaroo I have seen them with is the result of roadkill. Usually, they only take the tail.
And take a walk through a Lismore park and you will see some modern hunter gathering. They use "can you spare a couple of dollars so I can buy a coffee. If you "feed' they don't head off for one but wait for a few more dollars until it matches the price of a flagon. (that's a recent experience of mine)
