    You must go berserk these days when even the leading news media have journalists who rely, or don't as the case maybe, on the spellchecker and its idiosyncrasies.
    What you can't get through to the generations who, through no fault of their own, were never correctly taught grammar or how to spell, is that inaccuracies can not only make the reading difficult but may entirely alter the meaning of what they have written.
    This is not the 17th or 18th century when spelling was optional and very few could read anyway.

    Yes the Arts faculties have grown so many branches to meet the demands of students and academic staff regardless of the demands of the market. Weird and wonderful courses have appeared, or so it seems to me, that only have relevance for a very limited group of people.
    Not all knowledge is equal in terms of the needs and demands of the economy.
