Musk can also announce that he can save kids in a cave with a sub. Doesn't mean it will happen. Perhaps an announcement regarding cobalt reduction or total removal in batteries is aimed at crashing the Cobalt price. Think about it. Who wins there? What are the costs of batteries in a Tesla ? Crash Cobalt by 50% may give Musk a nice bottom line boost.
