As per an earlier post of mine today, we're going to have to be patient and wait until next month before we start to see any evidence of an improvement in the price of cobalt (and CLA's SP) once China's battery producers transition to producing high-power and high-energy cathodes for the new energy vehicle (NEV) batteries. The new Chinese government subsidies for 2018, aimed at encouraging this transition in battery production, are only just beginning to kick in. In the meantime, (official) cobalt inventories continue to plunge.
All of this hopefully augers well for a healthy rebound in cobalt prices by August 2018, when, coincidentally, we'll probably be seeing the CLA Scoping Study (PFS) come out.
