Sorry but no. I'm from s.africa and i've seen secunda and yes its a filthy place. No qualms on the fact that it is a huge source of pollution.

But where did you get the linc, sorry my pun, between sasol's 1950's plant and chincilla? SASOL uses huge industrial ovens to gasify the coal (above ground gasification) which means they mine coal, ignore the CSM escaping into the atmosphere, adn then burn convert it in these huge ovens. Which are inefficient and leave a huge waste disposal problem.

Look at the latest data released by LINC in their presentations for GHG emissions modelling. Don't insinuate that linc's proposed model is going to be a extreme polluter when in fact it isn't.
