Yeah, I guess the register is pretty tight. According to the website, the top 20 shareholders hold nearly 400 million shares and there is roughly 600 million on issue. Still, I don't see why someone who wanted to acquire a substantial number wouldn't be quietly accumulating at these levels. (Time will tell, if a substantial shareholder notice is issued.)
But if the directors are aware that some entity wants to take a substantial position and they want to reduce their own exposure, then perhaps they would try to manage some cross trades before the next price-moving announcements come out ? Who knows ?
I wouldn't like to see a large block suddenly appear on the sell side; but I think management is more canny that that.
