With regards to Myers, this may be true. It's definitely not true of Harvey Norman. Selling real estate and making your balance sheet "less lazy" is popular with MBA types and those that make a living from fat bonuses based on short term performance. However, whatever may be said about Gerry Harvey, he is not a corporate lemming and he does not have short term focus.
