Yes the metallisation plant in S Korea has received South Korean government funding to the tune of a few mill.
Note that the 1.2 billion Australian grant only takes the Australian process to oxides not metallisation. That part of the process still does not exist in Australia. There is a search for that going on… China has dominated. What is happening in South Korea is ‘Proof of Concept’ and if successful at commercial scale - especially if lower energy than conventional plants - it will be a world first and in demand in Australia, Europe, Japan and US. Next few month will tell if the ‘Proof of Concepr’ is working.
