After a little more research, and depending where abouts in Hwaseong Hyundai’s new EV plant is, we could actually be only an hour away by road.
Sell the whole of ASM to Hyundai for $1.5bn - $2bn and have done with it! That would be a huge win for everyone considering it was a spin off and at the time it had no real value in Alkanes SP.
With ASM‘a current difficulties gaining offtakes and falling behind of rare earth companies, if they haven’t considered selling the lot to Hyundai they are failing shareholders in my opinion and probably not acting in the shareholders best interests.
If it doesnt work out in South Korea, what next? Start the process all over again in Japan for example? It’s a long road if we are not successful in South Korea.
Who knows, a global downturn might force IG’s hand anyway if he needs the cash…..
