The market will be flooded with EVs. absolutely. But, the market might not be flooded with quality, reputable EVs, that are available to purchase today. If you can accept a small weight penalty to not have it light itself on fire, buy American not wherever-based, then Tesla will have that sector of the market. If they use the same REE components and can't supply cars to the market, that could be a problem for their business. I think that's why Elon is making the move. Not to be better, but to guarantee being able to produce. Because if the materials aren't available, then they're just not available.
