Collaboration between like-minded countries - among governments and the private sector - is essential to ensure new critical minerals projects get into production. This was a key message discussed at the recent hashtag#EXIM24 conference in Washington DC. Australian Strategic Materials (ASM) Managing Director Rowena Smith explained during the 'Critically Important: Critical Minerals & Global Collaboration' session that partnership between the US and Australia had materially grown to benefit industries such as defence that rely on rare earth elements in both countries.She and other panel members reinforced that government incentives must be calibrated with a deep understanding of the products end users need to ensure the support being provided to the sector can make the maximum impact.With thanks to the Export-Import Bank of the United States for enabling ASM to be part of the conversation.
