Exactly. Automakers the too obvious demand focal point for retail punters in RE & CM miners (and obviously even more so even Lithium) and discussion on here. Magnets are used in so many other critical areas of production. Struggling demand below the stupidly optimistic forecasts for BEV's should not be the focal point for investors:
And magnets likewise, of course dominated by neodymium, dysprosium, praseodymium, and terbium, certainly not the only aspect of RE & CM demand. Demand growth therein is going to be big of course, but they are hardly the only source of demand:
The more pressing US (and other nations - but its spending larger than the next 5 combined) defence industry should arguably be a more marked focal point, more likely to dictate geopolitical strategy and some big economic decisions:
https://www.ibtimes.co.uk/us-china-trade-pact-teeters-rare-earth-exports-threaten-explosive-rift-1734719
"The Geneva pact, hailed as a temporary détente, saw China agree to lift export curbs on seven rare-earth elements, including dysprosium and samarium, critical for US fighter jets and AI chips."
I am very bullish on the sector and ASM's prospect, contrary to a certain child's baseless assertions (he even wanders onto other stock threads to mock), but am perfectly entitled to be critical of Rowena and team's failure to capitalise on a more immediate and screaming demand opportunity via a massive already glaring bottleneck that Rowena should be falling over herself to easily fulfill said eager demand, since May 2022 with the KMP:
(and no Trump isn't coming to ASM's or ASM investors' rescue unless its by the continued supply constraints, therefore business opportunity for ASM, his childlike manner of diplomacy and economic strategy creates - in part why I loaded up on ASM on the global mkt lows he created in Feb/March)
