yes if the government got rid of salary packaging there would be a massive backlash from the PBI's, charities Health Sector.
however if they did nothing for years and years, the Union movement were quiet on the issue, then they could be default slowly kill off tax free income?
salary packaging is today a loss less effective than 20 years ago.
remember they brought the limits in 20 years ago because some high income earners (perhaps some medical professionals?) would entitled to healthcare cards. l am not 100% convinced as to support for the system
