religion, islam and mind

Islam is just one other religion amongst a host of belief systems that fall into various categories, from the benign to the truly vile, whereas most would qualify as memes.
Luckily modern science has elucidated the workings of the universe and through rational analysis of phenomena it is easy to conclude that all phenomena are, by causality, co-emergent.
(What we perceive as the universe is a self-contained, self-generating continuum governed by comprehensible laws and everything contained within is consciously entangled)

Religion is just another human thought-construct, without intrinsic value – a figment of the fertile ordinary mind that grabs hold of deluded credulous minds of the unenlightened like a virus.
Religion is really an ancient relic from the earliest days of emergence of the human conscious awareness, when the earliest hominids tried to make sense of experienced phenomena around them.
It evolved into more philosophical contemplations as to the why, how, meaning and purpose of existence and the most simplistic answer the ordinary mind could ever engender is that of an omnipotent, omniscient ‘being’ orchestrating and governing everything.

Modern religions have evolved into more subtle and insidious doctrines, so that even apparently highly educated individuals may fall prey to these memes.
The answer is analysis, contemplation and education, modern physics has finally caught up with the underlying truth and reality of existence, though true enlightened contemplatives were conscious of this for millennia.

Religion should be seen for what it is, a ‘dummy / soother’ for feeble minds.

Now, which religion doesn’t fall into the following definition of a meme:

    They promise heaven to believers.
Threaten eternal hell and punishment if you don’t belief.
Aim to boost the believers' egos by elevating them as the 'chosen' or superior to believers in ‘false’ religions.
Claim that belief is above reason.
    Employ a circular self-referential argument:
Ours is the only truth. We know this religion is the truth because the ‘holy book’ says so, which is the word of the almighty deity itself.
Claiming that all others are ‘non-believers’, infidels, and need to be eliminated.
The use of intimidation or belittlement and discrimination against unbelievers.

Once belief takes over in unsophisticated minds, then reason is abandoned and which creates an automaton willing to obey any order, however absurd or heinous it may be.

But of course Islam is far from being the only thought-construct that falls into this category; alas it serves as a notable example.

Any idea and thought that doesn’t pass the test of rational analysis and is dependent on ‘referential’ existence is delusional.
