Religious belief/faith is intrinsically ridiculous, faith as a belief held without evidence, this version of god, that version of god, squabbling over who has the best dogma.
The right to privately believe whatever you want, whatever brings comfort or meaning to one's life, no matter how absurd, as long as it causes no trouble, is fine....but when faith spills into public life, claims of authority and truth being made, bringing division and conflict, it's an entirely another matter.
