I have no religious beliefs. Nor a fixed ''belief structure''
''somehow you hold to the view that you are arbitrator over all matters pertaining to religious beliefs.''
Another fallacy. This is all about evidence and rational argument. Which is nothing personal. You are trying to make it personal as a means of defense.
Religious beliefs are either justified through evidence, ot they are not. This has nothing to do with me.
If there is evidence for the existence of Allah, Zeus, Yahweh or any of the versions of God or gods people happen to believe exist, then that evidence should be used to support a rational argument for the existence of whatever is claimed to be true. What it happens to say in the Quran or the bible or in other holy books is not evidence for their claims.
Again, this has nothing to do with me.
It is just basic logic and reason.
Well DT9B here is the issue is it not.....basic logic and reason. It would not matter what was presented to this forum in the way of such things for you would along with others here would dismiss it. Why? because of prejudice! Nothing more and nothing less dear sir. We are born with it and the older we get the harder we become especially in the matters pertaining to faith.
Those who accept rationalism as their highest authority reject everything that reason cannot comprehend, their intellect requiring confirmation with every subject, otherwise it is considered only worthy of repudiation.
Such are they that read the Scriptures as they would read a book on mathematics, or science, demanding confirmation of every point. The same persons dismiss the Scriptures citing their dissatisfaction with it apparent lack of "verification"!.
The chief priests and the scribes along with Herod Agrippa who was delighted to be meeting Jesus, hoping he might "perform" a few miracles for him, was met with silence: The their flippant questions brought no response from Him: their feeble reason plunges into hopeless confusion, anger and ridicule.
"The Infinitude refuses to be grasped in a human span, and Eternity disdains to crowd into one little intellect its stupendous and magnificent treasures."
He does not prove anything to anyone and silence is the only response that is "heard" by those who would mock Him. What a tragic silence that is.
"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise."
