    No it cannot. It cannot prove that God does not exist, or santa, or the tooth fairy, or the flying spaghetti monster.

    Bertrand Russel had a superb analogy for this, and stated that "philosophic burden of proof lies upon a person making scientifically unfalsifiable claims rather than shifting the burden of proof to others". Have a read about Russell's Teapot.

    And Misty, I certainly don't mean to belittle anyone's personal belief system. It is religion which I have issues with.
