That is a good point D12, Eugenics legislation actually was implemented first in the very secular state of California USA early last century. It was the Catholic Church that lobbied to appeal the legislation based on the principle all men are equal created in the image of God. Thats right Eugenics got its toe hold in America via the fervent Darwinists in a very secular environment.

Hitler used these same laws to promote Eugenics abroad and try to legitamize the Nazi cause.

Interesting quote from Martin Luther King

“Never forget that everything Hitler did in Germany was legal.”
    ? Martin Luther King Jr.

Hitler was also heavily influenced by the atheist german philosopher friedrich nietzsche who believed in the 'superman'. This Superhuman was evolutionary a pure race of human that removed the need for a creator. Friedrich Nietzsche famously coined the term God is dead.

Hitler armed with this atheistic racial ideology met with Stalin promoting this idea trying to get support from Stalin whos hatred for religion was clear. The logical sequalae of Darwinism had meet its most ardent fascilitator in Adolf Hitler.

Richard Dawkins was interviewed in Austria it was interesting as he was asked would he live in a Darwinist society.

Dawkins gave to an Austrian newspaper, Die Presse (July 30, 2005), in which he said: “No decent person wants to live in a society that works according to Darwinian laws. . . . A Darwinian society would be a fascist state.”

See even an atheist can at times produce a rational thought but it is rare for such to occur.

Richard Weikart a professor of History at California State university has a wealth of information about the Eugenics movement and what occured in California with Eugenic legislation. like many others have he has written about the atheistic ideology of the nazi party and in particular Hitler,

“Darwinism by itself did not produce the Holocaust, but without Darwinism... neither Hitler nor his Nazi followers would have had the necessary scientific underpinnings to convince themselves and their collaborators that one of the worlds greatest atrocities was really morally praiseworthy.”
? Richard Weikart, From Darwin to Hitler: Evolutionary Ethics, Eugenics, and Racism in Germany
