watso was raised in a strongly religious household... and at some silly crusade, watso devoted his life to JC - oh well, so much for the dedication, because these days watso simply laughs at the stupidity of his dedication.
watso was , as far as he can recall, was always a bit sus about the JC DYING FOR OUR SINS con job - that was a bit hard to believe .. nevertheless, watso when questioning his religious upbringing , had to toss a coin between eternal life, or eternal hell. In the search for truth, watso read a book by Phillip Adams titled ADAM vs GOD.
phillip adams in his book, made it very clear why i had my religious beliefs - and that was because watso simply followed the religious beliefs of his parents - and that had a lot to do with geography - so an italian would most likely be a catholic, an indian would most likely be a hindu, etc etc .. the post by jerome touches on the same point.. ie

once watso accepted the above point, then it was obvious that there was no god.
not that there is a god - but in the remote possibility that there is, then watso simply tries to be a good person, without grovelling to the teddy bear in the sky.
at least mormans are pleasant when they look for converts - and as pleasant as what they are, they are just another mob of fools. mmmmm watso's parents scored a bit of extra income from mormans, when they visited WA to evangelize - they were clean living and paid the rent - and from memory, they paid their own way ..ie, they saved their own money to pay the costs of their evangelizing .
once watso worked out that the christian religion was a fraud - well after that he could not be bothered to look for another god...mmm well, no point becoming a muslim, because they pray to the same christian god - and no point wasting time with any eastern religions - for no other reason that there is no god - and from memory, the eastern religions have heaps of gods.
at least the idea of the monotheistic god made it easier for religious people - ie just one god to worry about - but the catholics had to introduce mary and saints to have a word with god, because god was not listening - and he still is not listening
