I think the Malaysians have a point. There was a proposal for a permanent storages of radioactive waste and that was shelved (surely due to cost). They want that to progress. This is the hard bit as experts cannot agree how to permanently dispose of the waste. The cleanest way is to launch it into space and send it into the Sun to join the family of natural radioactivity. Unfortunately, this costs too much!
