Actually it’s funny you mention this, it’s so quiet atm and everyone is just sitting tight and waiting. What else can we do, call the office?

I reached out to a local in Cameroon recently, someone sitting in some of these recent meetings, to ask about their opinion regarding the delays, the sentiment among locals and what he personally thought of the Bauxite project. Surprisingly he answered! He mentioned that he was leaning towards a positive outcome but that there had been some concern during Q4 from local groups and that had been worked through in Jan/Feb.

French isn’t a strength of mine but I got the impression there’s still some work to be done with questions or perhaps guarantees regarding the environment and social impacts moving forward.
