This mornings AFR had this "segment" in an overall market summary:
National Australia Bank shares fell 1.4 per cent on Friday to $26.80 following a report from Credit Suisse First Boston suggesting the bank would be making additional restructuring charges of about $700million.
Rumours circulating of a large write-down at NAB had an impact because the bank's new chief financial officer and director, Michael Ullmer, was in Sydney on Friday meeting brokers for the first time since he left the Commonwealth Bank in May.
A NAB spokesman said Mr Ullmer had not released any price sensitive information during his meetings.

Whilst it's not a conclusive denial, its an indication that the meetings that started the rumor may have been totally unrelated to any potential profit warning. As NAB have recently stated that they are working on making the SP stronger, I was speculating on some form of positive announcement pre-open on Monday to pour cold water over an understandably nervous market.
It was only on Thursday that the financial press were stating how NAB had consilidated nicely over the $27.00 mark and was looking to push on from here, so on the back of no official news it could be a bit soon for so much doom and gloom ?
