No, it didn't have to be done in the mannor our p**s poor excuse for a P.M. and his Federal freakshow of a Government did it.

We had plenty of time to build fit for purpose quarantine facilities in all the states that were recieving returning Australians and handled quarantine properly. Hotels are not designed for quarantining there was always going to be leakage and that leakage could have been greatly reduced if we had proper facilities. Less leakage would have reduced the need to spend so much on financial support and we wouldn't have had to use the blunt tool of Lockdown as often and as long. So it was a rolled gold balls up right from the start.

BTW that money saved more than the elderly and it's a gross misrepresentation to try and pass it off in that mannor, the tragedy is that it needn't have cost anywhere near that much and we didn't have to have the damage to peoples lives that has resulted from Morrison mishandling of the pandemic and a blatant failure on his part to prepare Austalia as best he could for what was coming.

Morrison was always going to be true to form and unfortunately for us he keeps proving that it will always be. Pandemic aside he biggest risk to the Australian economy during Morrison's time as P.M. has been Scott Morrison himself. Hey but I'm sure that confidence destroying individual would have found a way to trash the economy if there was no Pandemic too. It's the price we pay for having people that are unfit to hold high office in key roles.
