When i first started out i initially gave myself lots of room and failed dismally, tried longer term investing and that was even more of a disaster.Swing trading i very quickly know if im right or not, cut my loses and as long as my plan was followed no biggie. I find the older i get the more risk adverse i am and shudder when i think about all the 'mistakes', huge positions etc i had on, though i guess thats part and parcel of the learning process. Totally agree def need good risk/reward setups and was lucky cos robx7 indirectly hammered that home when he was kicking round these parts.
Also as i get older divi plays get more appealing at least for a longer term plays and deriving somewhat of a second income from those that could cover bills/living expenses.
Peace
Karl
