    BQT Solutions reports international successes

North Ryde ATS company, BQT Solutions, is reporting ongoing international success with its high end security technologies.

BQT Solutions has positioned itself as a global leader in security technology with its "Mifare" smart cards, access control systems that adopt fingerprint and iris recognition techniques (biometrics), and data encryption technology.

BQT Solutions' patented technologies have been developed completely in-house and have been designed so they can be upgraded to meet new generation developments in biometrics and encryption as they arise.

BQT's technology is used to control access to both computer networks and buildings, prompting sales successes including:

    • Implementation of a security system for construction company Leighton Contractors involving the distribution of a smart card ID to every person on a bank building site in Sydney and the use of a mobile handheld smart card reader to scan the cards of all employees entering and leaving the site

    • Installation of access readers at Adelaide Airport, Bangkok Airport and Gerald Ford Airport in the US

    • Installation of techology at Wollongong University to cater for meal times for students, and installations at Queensland University of Technology, Edith Cowan University, the University of Western Australia, and King Fahd University in Saudi Arabia

Other clients have included Darwin City Council, two prisons in Victoria, the Australian Crime Commission, 18 Department of Defence sites across Australia, Amway in Sydney, the Port of Long Beach in the US, Queensland Rail, the RAAF, a Navy site in Western Australia, the headquarters of the Perth Transport Authority and Nomura Bank's London offices.

The company's technologies can also offer vehicle number plate tracking at speeds of up to 130kms per hour, cash register fraud prevention for retail outlets, and a three-dimensional facial recognition system.

As well as its Sydney headquarters, BQT Solutions now operates offices in London, Los Angeles, Shanghai and Chennai.

"We are committed to producing a range of high security products that would be the most advanced in the world," BQT Solutions managing director John Genner said.

"The global market for smart card based access control systems is expanding as the need for additional security and flexibility for management of access control is recognised."

BQT and Monitor partner in schools smartcards

Smartcard access systems provider BQT Solutions (ASX:BQT) and technology services provider to the education market, Monitor Business Solutions, have partnered to deliver a smartcard access system to schools and universities.

The system, called SmaX, would enable students to use smartcards to access a range of services, as well as gain entry to secure buildings.

John Genner, managing director of BQT Solutions Limited said: “SmaX has been developed by BQT and is an intelligent access control management system for building security. Unlike other access systems in the market it does not require door controllers. The SmaX access control management system is based around BQT’s Mifare Technology and is the ideal solution not only for schools and universities but also any organisation requiring quality access security.

"Our partner Monitor has been involved in the school and university service area for a number of years. They have been delivering services to schools and universities across Australia with range of solutions that include Internet Monitoring, Content Management, Network Security and now a complete Access Control solution by using BQT’s SmaX system.

"BQT and Monitor (VIC) have just provided the SmaX solution to Geelong Grammar in Victoria. BQT and Monitor are currently working together to implement solutions for other schools and universities across Australia.

"The BQT SmaX Access system will enable the schools to supply its students with the BQT Mifare Smart Card. The cardholder will have the use of the “one” card for physical access, logical/computer access, photocopying and canteen and other applications."
