CSL is a different cattle of fish as it has protection in that they are quite insulated from foreign products of a similar nature to what they produce to be allowed into Australia. When compared to the cost of blood products from overseas, CSL's prices are well above and the Government will only allow a certain % of such products to be important which seems absurd but supports the protection for local companies. Hence with little competition they have a virtual monopoly and can dictate what prices they can sell.
