you see you don't understand corporate chess
if you have fat long term employment contracts it acts as a poison pill should the X men decide to take over
WM and CM are taking this massive remuneration for the good of all shareholders
and it is really hot working in the 'curry
maybe an options issue is justified too, just to be sure the company is safe from predators
