Rene did use his money, thats why he only got weekend detention. Ironically, I read another article in the paper, beside Rivkins of bogus tradesmen standing over householders and demanding money for botched jobs receiving 6 months and 12 months jail. In all cases a crime has been committed of obtaining profit by deception.
I personally have first-hand knowledge of Rivkin's sons and friends of sons use prior knowledge of Rivkin's upcoming newsletters to gain profits out of sharetrading.
In my opinion, Rene Rivkin should accept his punishment and be very happy that he was only caught in one instance. I believe that once Rene may have been an excellent trader/investor, but now with a broker licence and a subscription newsletter and other items, there are massive conflicts of interest, that can only give him an unfair advantage over others.
